PhD in Mice Brain Mapping and Analysis at the Technical University of Munich

A PhD position in mice brain mapping and analysis is available at the Technical University of Munich, Germany.


The position is part of a 3-year project that deals with the reconstruction and analysis of cerebrovascular networks of mice using high-resolution imaging modalities. The project is part of the “Mouse Brain Data” initiative in the “Human Brain” project.

This research is being carried out by:

  • Image-based Biomedical Modeling Group, Department of Informatics, Technical University of Munich
  • Experimental Imaging and Neuroenergetics Group, Institute of Pharmacology, University of Zurich

Job description

The goal is to map and analyze the full vascular network of mice brain down to the capillary level.

Required qualifications

  • Strong background in medical image computing or computer vision
  • Experience in computational blood flow modeling, neurokinetic modeling or network analysis (desired)

The position can either be filled by a PhD student or a Postdoctoral fellow.
