I adopt the definition proposed by Rafael C. González and Richard E. Woods, which states that digital image processing:
- Encompasses processes whose inputs and outputs are digital images
- Encompasses processes that take digital images as input and return attributes extracted from those images
- Encompasses processes that recognize objects present in digital images
As indicated by its name, this website is focused on digital image processing, although high-level processes that take as input the set of recognized objects will also be covered as the pace of science moves.
